In a large jar or pitcher, combine the coarsely ground coffee and cold water. Add a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg for a hint of warmth.
Stir gently to ensure all the coffee grounds are saturated.
Cover and let it steep in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours, depending on your desired strength.
After steeping, strain the coffee through a fine mesh sieve or a coffee filter to remove the grounds. You should have about 4 cups of cold brew coffee.
Prepare the cocktail
