With Apricot Juice
- 4 oz (120 ml) silver tequila
- 2 oz (60 ml) apricot liqueur
- 2 oz (60 ml) fresh lime juice
- 2 oz (60 ml) apricot nectar or juice
- 1 oz (30 ml) simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Lime wedges and apricot slices for garnish
- Salt or sugar for rimming the glasses
With Apricot Puree
- 4-5 ripe apricots pitted and chopped
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon sugar optional
- 4 oz (120 ml) silver tequila
- 2 oz (60 ml) apricot liqueur
- 2 oz (60 ml) fresh lime juice
- 2 oz (60 ml) apricot puree
- 1 oz (30 ml) simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Lime wedges and apricot slices for garnish
- Salt or sugar for rimming the glasses
With Apricot juice
Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each margarita glass. Dip the rims into a plate of salt or sugar to coat them.
In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, apricot liqueur, fresh lime juice, apricot nectar, and simple syrup.
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
Fill the prepared glasses with ice.
Strain the margarita mixture into the glasses.
Garnish with lime wedges and apricot slices. Serve immediately and enjoy.
With Apricot Puree
In a small saucepan, combine the chopped apricots, water, and sugar (if using).
Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, until the apricots are soft and the mixture is slightly thickened.
Allow the mixture to cool, then blend it in a blender or food processor until smooth.
Strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solids, if desired. Set aside.
