Ingredients
  

With Apricot Juice

  • 4 oz (120 ml) silver tequila
  • 2 oz (60 ml) apricot liqueur
  • 2 oz (60 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz (60 ml) apricot nectar or juice
  • 1 oz (30 ml) simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedges and apricot slices for garnish
  • Salt or sugar for rimming the glasses

With Apricot Puree

  • 4-5 ripe apricots pitted and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar optional
  • 4 oz (120 ml) silver tequila
  • 2 oz (60 ml) apricot liqueur
  • 2 oz (60 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz (60 ml) apricot puree
  • 1 oz (30 ml) simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedges and apricot slices for garnish
  • Salt or sugar for rimming the glasses

Instructions
 

With Apricot juice

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each margarita glass. Dip the rims into a plate of salt or sugar to coat them.
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, apricot liqueur, fresh lime juice, apricot nectar, and simple syrup.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
  • Fill the prepared glasses with ice.
  • Strain the margarita mixture into the glasses.
  • Garnish with lime wedges and apricot slices. Serve immediately and enjoy.

With Apricot Puree

  • In a small saucepan, combine the chopped apricots, water, and sugar (if using).
  • Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, until the apricots are soft and the mixture is slightly thickened.
  • Allow the mixture to cool, then blend it in a blender or food processor until smooth.
  • Strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solids, if desired. Set aside.
  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each margarita glass. Dip the rims into a plate of salt or sugar to coat them.
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, apricot liqueur, fresh lime juice, apricot puree, and simple syrup.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of simple syrup to your preference.
  • For a frozen version, blend the apricot margarita ingredients with ice.
  • The apricot puree can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
