- 1 shot (30ml) espresso or ½ cup strong brewed coffee
- ¾ cup milk (whole, oat, or almond)
- 1 oz amaretto liqueur
- 1 tbsp sugarcane syrup or brown sugar, optional
- Whipped cream optional, for topping
- Toasted almond flakes optional, for garnish
- Ground cinnamon or cocoa powder optional, for dusting
Brew the espresso using an espresso machine or make strong coffee using your preferred method.
Steam the milk until hot and frothy using a frother, steam wand, or by heating it on the stove and whisking vigorously.
Mix the espresso and amaretto in a heatproof mug. Add sugarcane syrup if you prefer a sweeter taste.
Pour the steamed milk over the espresso-amaretto mixture, holding back the froth with a spoon and then spooning it on top.
Top with whipped cream, toasted almond flakes, and a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
- Substitute amaretto liqueur with ½ tsp almond extract for a similar nutty flavor.
- For a stronger coffee flavor, use a double shot of espresso.
- Use instant espresso powder for a quick alternative.
