Celery Juice to Boost Energy, Burn Fat, Beat Bloat

Celery Juice is not my favourite at first. But trust me, it grows on you. It’s crisp, hydrating, and gives me a clean energy boost without any fuss.

Celery Juice Recipe

Celery juice is a healthy drink made from the stalks of celery. It’s known for its high water content (about 95%) and a variety of vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin K, vitamin C, potassium, and folate.

The drink is low in sugar and calories. It supports hydration, digestion, inflammation reduction, heart health, and immune function.

You can try celery sticks with peanut butter or cream cheese alongside celery juice. The drink also complements fresh salads, such as celery and apple slaw or Moroccan-style celery and dates salad.

Creamy soups like celery and avocado soup complement celery juice’s freshness. For global flavors, serve it with Korean-style celery stir-fry or Indian-style celery curry.

I’ve tweaked the flavor just enough to make it smooth and easy to drink. Here’s how to make the celery juice:

Ingredients

  • 1 large bunch of fresh celery about 8–10 stalks
  • ½ cup cold water optional, for blending
  • ½-1 tsp maple syrup or honey
  • ½ lemon juiced (optional, for brightness)

Instructions

  • Wash celery thoroughly and chop into smaller pieces.
  • Add celery and water to a blender. Add lemon juice if using.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Pour through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl or large glass. Press or squeeze to extract all the juice. Discard the pulp or save for other uses.
  • Stir in ½ teaspoons of maple syrup or honey until fully dissolved.
  • Chill and serve over ice.

Notes

  • Maple syrup adds a smooth, mild sweetness; honey gives a richer flavor.
  • Keep sweetness minimal to retain celery’s detox and hydration benefits.
  • Drink chilled for the most pleasant flavor.

Variations

Here are some tasty variations of the celery juice recipe:

  1. Minty Addition adds 5–6 fresh mint leaves for a cooling, spa-like twist.
  2. Celery Cucumber Ginger Juice adds ½ cucumber and a ½-inch piece of fresh ginger. This version is great for digestion and very refreshing.
  3. Celery Pineapple Lime Juice includes ½ cup pineapple chunks and a splash of lime juice.  It’s sweet, tangy, tropical, but still healthy.
  4. Celery Green Tea Honey Drink replaces water with chilled green tea and mixes in 1 tsp of honey.
  5. Celery Carrot Orange Juice adds 1 carrot and juice from ½ orange. It’s slightly sweet, rich in beta-carotene.
  6. Celery Coconut Water blends celery with coconut water instead of plain water. The drink is naturally sweet, hydrating, and electrolyte-rich.

Health Benefits

Celery juice is a refreshing way to stay hydrated, thanks to its high water content. It helps keep your body balanced, supports healthy circulation, and helps regulate your body temperature.

It’s packed with nutrients like vitamin K for strong bones and vitamin C to boost your immune system and keep your skin healthy. The juice may also help your digestion, especially if it includes fiber. It can even reduce bloating and keep things moving smoothly.

Celery also has natural plant compounds that may help lower inflammation and support heart health. It may even help lower blood pressure and support detox.
