Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 black tea bag or green tea bag or 1 tsp loose black tea/green tea
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1-2 tsp honey adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger optional for a warming kick
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2-3 whole cloves
  • 1 small stick of cinnamon optional
  • Lemon slices for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  • Add cloves, ground cinnamon, and fresh ginger. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Add the tea bag (or loose tea in an infuser). Turn off the heat and let it steep for 3–5 minutes.
  • Remove tea bag (or strain). Stir in lemon juice and honey.
  • Pour into cups and garnish with lemon slices if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of turmeric or a dash of cayenne for extra health benefits.
  • Use rooibos or chamomile tea instead of black tea for a caffeine-free option.
  • Let the tea cool and serve over ice for a refreshing summer drink.
