Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl or a jar with a lid, combine the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, and honey.
  • Add the dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Whisk or shake well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed and the dressing is emulsified.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

You can add other ingredients to create unique flavor profiles:
    • Lemon juice for extra brightness
    • Fresh herbs basil, oregano, thyme
    • Grated Parmesan cheese
    • Minced garlic or shallots
    • Red pepper flakes for heat
The homemade Italian dressing can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 to 3 weeks. Shake or whisk before use, as it may separate over time. If it solidifies, let it sit at room temperature or warm it under running water to liquefy.
