1 apple thinly sliced, preferably red or sweet variety 2 cups water 1 cinnamon stick or ½ tsp ground cinnamon 1 black tea bag or green/herbal if preferred 1 tsp lemon juice optional 1 tsp maple syrup to taste or honey (optional)
In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
Add sliced apple and cinnamon stick. Simmer gently for 10 minutes.
Add the tea bag and steep for 3–5 minutes, depending on how strong you like it.
Remove apple slices and cinnamon. Strain the tea into cups.
Stir in honey or lemon juice if desired. Enjoy warm.
Use apple peel for added flavor and a pinkish hue.
Swap tea with rooibos or chamomile for a caffeine-free version.
Feel free to reuse the cinnamon stick once or twice.
