1 medium apple sliced thinly, for garnish & muddling ½ cup apple juice (unsweetened preferred) 1 tbsp fresh ginger finely grated 8-10 fresh mint leaves 2 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed 2 tsp sugar or honey 4 oz white rum ½ cup soda water (club soda) Ice cubes as needed
In a sturdy glass, muddle the mint leaves, ginger, lime juice, and sugar together to release aromas and flavor.
Add apple slices and lightly press them with the muddler.
Fill the glass with ice cubes.
Pour in the white rum and apple juice. Stir well.
Top with soda water and give it a gentle stir.
Garnish with extra apple slices, mint sprigs, and a thin slice of lime. Serve immediately.
For a non-alcoholic version, skip the rum and add more apple juice & soda water.
Adjust sweetness with sugar, honey, or agave syrup.
For stronger ginger flavor, muddle more ginger or add a splash of ginger ale instead of club soda.
Do not prepare far in advance, as mint and apple will oxidize.
