It might sound strange at first, but this country has a remarkable way of surprising visitors with its fascinating cuisine. While I’ve previously introduced you to Coconut Coffee, but the Banana Latte truly stands out as an exceptional beverage that showcases Vietnam’s innovative approach to coffee.
Banana latte combines the rich flavor of espresso with the creamy sweetness of bananas. It offers a harmonious blend of caffeine kick and fruity indulgence, making it a favorite among adventurous coffee drinkers and those with a sweet tooth.

The drink combines the sweetness of ripe bananas with the bitterness of coffee. It’s quite easy to make with some ingredients like banana, coffee, milk or cream. Some recipes also include sugar, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, or other spices like cinnamon or nutmeg to enhance the flavor.
Here’s how to make the Banana Latte:

Banana Latte
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup of milk dairy or plant-based
- 1 shot of espresso or 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee
- 1 tablespoon of honey or sweetener of your choice optional
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Ice cubes optional
Instructions
- Peel the banana and cut it into small pieces.
- In a blender, combine the banana pieces, milk, honey (if using), and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Prepare your espresso shot or brew a strong cup of coffee.
- Pour the blended banana mixture into a glass. Add the espresso or coffee and stir well.
- You can serve the Banana Latte hot or over ice, depending on your preference.
